Considering they both belong to the small family car segment and utilize the same 2-door cabriolet body style and the front wheel drive system, it all comes up to the specific petrol engine choice they offer. The first one has a Peugeot-engineered powertrain under the hood, a 4-cylinder, 16-valves 109hp unit, while the other one gets its power and torque from a 4-cylinder, 16-valves 112hp engine designed by Renault. Safety The first thing to look into here would be the results from European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) tests performed on the two cars. Good thing is that both vehicles got tested, with the Renault being a slightly better choice apparently. Moving further on, let's take a closer look at some additional safety-related facts. Both vehicles belong to the small family car segment, which is generally classifying them somewhere in the middle safety-wise, still it doesn't help us solve our dilemma, does it? Furthermore, when it comes to weight, a factor that most people underestimate, 307 offers a considerable difference of 10% more metal. Reliability Reliability is not the best thing to consider on the make level, but it is worth mentioning that both brands display similar results in faults and breakdowns, when all the models are taken into account. These are the official statistics, while our visitors describe reliability of Peugeot with an average rating of and models under the Renault badge with out of 5. The same official information place 307 as average reliability-wise, and Megane is more or less at the same it all, drivers of cars with the same engine as 307 rank it on average as while the one under the competitor's bonnet gets out of 5. Performance & Fuel economy Renault is a bit more agile, reaching 100km/h in seconds less than its competitor. In addition to that it accelerates all the way to 195 kilometers per hour, 4km/h more than the other car. When it comes to fuel economy things look pretty much the same for both cars, averaging around liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (39 mpg), in combined cycle. Verdict Peugeot appears just a bit more reliable, although the difference is truly marginal. The most important thing when deciding between any two vehicles should always be safety, both passive and active. In this case though, it seems that both cars show similar levels of passenger protection all together, so that won't break a tie. But one thing that actually could is the performance, with Renault offering somewhat better performance, just enough to call it quicker. To make things even better, it consumps less fuel! I believe that, when we take all into account, we have only one winner here - the Renault. In any case that's my personal view, built upon all the data available to me. What should decide here though is the way you feel about the two vehicles, and I hope you'll find my guidelines useful in the process. In case you have two minutes to spare I invite you to define your needs, desires and budget and see which car would be chosen by the virtual adviser™, among more than different ones in our database. The 206CC has been the big seller but if you want something altogether bigger, more sophisticated and a good deal better looking, you'll need a 307CC. Here we take a look at whether one of these technically complex cars makes a sound used Covered: 2003-to date: (2dr coupe/cabrio petrol 138/180bhp])HistoryPrior to the 307CC arriving on the market in July 2003, your choices for a tin-toped cabriolet extended to either a 206CC or some seriously expensive tackle like the Lexus SC430 or the Mercedes SLK and SL models. In the middle market where most prospective cabriolet buyers did their shopping there was a big, fat zero. With the benefit of their experience with the 206CC behind them, Peugeot were able to bring the 307CC to market a crucial few months before their big rivals Renault could launch the Megane CC. Available with a two-litre engine of either 138 or 180bhp, the 307 CC was an instant hit, its lines a good deal better resolved than many of the rather lumpen coupe cabriolets we've seen since. The 307 CC was facelifted in time for summer 2005. The gaping air-intake in the front bumper, huge headlamps and shortened bonnet with pronounced side ridges all mark these cars out. In addition, there were trim enhancements, a 2bhp power boost for the 138bhp petrol engine and a 136bhp HDi diesel engine to top off the range. The 308 CC arrived in 2009 spelling the end for the 307 You GetIt seems virtually compulsory for each subsequent cabriolet release to one-up its predecessors in the sheer complexity and ingenuity of its roof mechanism. Although the folding metal roof isn't the newest idea on the block (Peugeot were in fact at it in 1934 with its 401 model), it can still surprise bystanders, largely due to the fact that with the hood up, the 307 CC just doesn't look like a convertible car. The roofline is sleek and low slung in proper coupe tradition and Peugeot gave the car's credibility a major boost by announcing that the 2004 World Rally Car would be based on the 307 CC body. Modern multiplex wiring techniques mean that many sophisticated electronic functions have been included. Peugeot list a series of refinements as long as your arm, most of them concerned with safety. As well as the standard anti- lock brakes, traction control and twin front airbags, the 307 CC features Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), side airbags, automatic rain sensing wipers and automatic light sensing headlamps, seatbelt pretensioners and pyrotechnically operated rear rollover hoops that automatically deploy if the car thinks that, despite all the electronic safety systems, things are going to go dirty side up. A Thatcham category 1 alarm, electric windows and door safety brackets that prevent the doors opening in the event of a high-speed incident complete the ensemble. You certainly can't accuse Peugeot of ignoring the detail. Standard equipment on both cars includes cruise control, digital air conditioning, aluminium interior detailing and a full body coloured exterior. The 180bhp version features a comprehensive equipment list that includes 17-inch alloy wheels, half- leather trim sports seats, rear parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors and a five-disc CD autochanger integrated into the fascia to prevent theft. The multiplex wiring system means that optional extras such as satellite navigation and the hands-free phone system can be integrated easily and cost effectively when specifying the car. Other commonly specified optional features you'll come across include pearlescent paint and a full leather interior trim. Like many cars of its type, the Peugeot 307CC offers a decent sized boot, the capacity of which is decimated when the hood is folded down but it's a price many are willing to pay for the additional refinement, safety and security that the metal roof affords. Both cars feature a manual gearbox but the 138bhp also offers the option of a four-speed automatic, which is a boon for those who want to sup on some particulates in the You PayPlease contact us for an exact up-to-date to Look ForIt's imperative that the hood mechanism works properly, as this is a common fault, often getting stuck half way up or down. The boot should close fully when the hood is retracted and there should be no scrapes or graunches as it operates. The 307CC also suffers from electrical gremlins. A test car of ours would routinely flash a depollution failure warning and then travel at no more than 30mph. The engines themselves seem worthy units but the ancillaries can be problematic. Also check for body panel alignment, interior carpeting that easily comes unstuck and kerbed alloy Parts(approx based on a 2004 307CC 180) Consumables for the 307CC are reasonably priced. An air filter is around £10 with an oil filter retailing at approximately £15. Spark plugs are £9 each with a timing belt weighing in at the £30 the RoadTwo engines are available. The 138bhp engine that powers the 206GTi will be the choice for most but you can also go for a powerful 180bhp unit borrowed from the 206 GTi 180. The 307CC 180 weighs in at 1,870kg, 168kg more than a conventional 3-door 307 with the 138bhp engine. Look to the performance figures and you can see how the CC's additional mass makes itself felt. The 307 3-door will reach 60mph from standstill in and the 307CC 180 which, remember, has an extra 42bhp in its locker, does the 60mph sprint in 10 seconds dead. The extra power makes for a 140mph top speed, significantly better that the 127mph available in the fixed roof car but at low speeds where it matters, the CC 180 feels significantly less flexible. Indeed, the 307CC 180 is only of a second faster to 60mph that the entry level CC with its 138bhp output. If you're looking for a sporting drive, the 307CC isn't the Peugeot 307CC is the most cost effective way of purchasing a four seat hard topped cabriolet, but it's not the most reliable car we've ever encountered. Take your time to look at a few and try to pick a decent example.

W rzeczywistości to bardziej skomplikowana i kosztowna konstrukcja. SilnikiDo napędu Peugeota wybraliśmy silnik benzynowy o pojemności 2 l i mocy 136 KM. Silnik o niemal identycznej pojemności skokowej i mocy napędza również Megane. W Peugeocie zastosowano 5-biegową skrzynię przekładniową, a w Renaulcie - 6-biegową. Renault Megane CC vs. Peugeot 307 CC. Pon, 07.02.2005, 13:40 ale co to za frajda mieć cabrio i przez 9miesięcy w roku jeździć z zasłoniętym
Having an electrically folding steel roof that turns a cabrio into a de facto coupe is hardly big news, but a system that’s no less impressive for its familiarity. And the newly arrived Peugeot 307 CC’s ability to contort its metal roof into the boot is precisely what’s going to make it such an enticing prospect. Metal roof in place the Pug’s coupe pretentions aren’t too far wide of the mark either. Edging into illegal speeds some wind noise creeps into the cabin but at licence-friendly pace you’re well isolated from the outside world. After waiting 25 seconds for the hood to cantilever into the boot things aren’t altered a great deal either. You’ll feel slightly more shimmying through the wheel and a corresponding corruption in ride quality, but even in fresh air form it’s commendably refined. What you don’t get though is what is always welcome with wind in your hair motoring – a bit of pizzazz. While the 307CC’s softish gait means a good ride and it spears through corners competently – sluggish steering and ordinary agility means it’s never going to be responsible for upping coronary activity. Part of the problem too is a lack of urge. The base 136bhp version we tested sounds promising until you learn that there’s 1457kgs to haul around, 238kgs more lard than the hatchback version matched to an already rev-greedy engine. So making inspired progress means hanging onto gears, ruining the hushed demeanour in the process. But you get high levels of kit for your £18,300, there’s room for four, a pleasant and comfortable cabin and a decent boot – even if it’s halved when the roof’s down. In fact, the only block to buying one could be that the prettier Renault Megane CC, also with a folding metal roof, arrives in a matter of weeks. Peugeot 307 CC (2003 – 2008) At A Glance Space for four adults. Drives well. Plenty of safety kit. The standard 138bhp manual model is the one to go for. Awkward styling from some angles. The auto version is disappointing. At launch in 2003, there was only one other car like it. The Renault Megane CC was the only alternative genuine four seater with a hard top that folded away into the boot. We both drove all three variations of the 307CC and came to a surprising conclusion. "When I try to open the roof of my Peugeot 307 CC it says 'operation impossible, screen not in place'. What does this mean? I have only just bought it" There is a screen in the boot that divides the load area into luggage space and free space for the top to fold into. If you want to carry more luggage at the expense of not taking the top down you move the screen out of the way. If you want to take the top down you put the screen in place (and make sure it is making the electrical contacts that tell the roof ECU that it is in place). "I own a Peugeot 307cc, which broken down recently. The car was towed to a local garage, who told me it needed a new water pump and casing. They also said the engine was damaged, with nine out of 16 valves damaged. The repairs cost £980. I've had the car returned, but it sounds the same and apparently there are seven new engine faults. Are they ripping me off and taking me for a fool? " You are not being taken for a fool. Your problem is that the engine failure is more catastrophic than first thought, which is why the attempted repair has not succeeded. The easy answer is a fully reconditioned engine. Folding roof fault on 307 CC "My wife owns a 2004 Peugeot 307 cc; however, the folding roof has failed - something to do with the catches close to the windscreen. My local dealer has quoted £1500 to rectify the problem. It failed whilst being operated whilst in Truro and the AA managed to get it closed- I think there is a manual way of doing this (I was not present and my wife is not mechanically minded). Our local independent (to his credit) refuses to touch something 'he knows nothing about'. Can you recommend somebody we can go to, preferably close to mid-Cornwall." If you're still in Truro, a piece of slightly good news. The best people in the country for sunroofs are: What's the best convertible for £7k? "I am thinking of buying a convertible car with a metal folding hardtop. It needs to seat four adults and can be either a petrol or diesel. I have £7000 to spend, what do you recommend?" Renault Megane Cabrio 1,6 (112KM) 5 900 zł do negocjacji. Wrocław, Krzyki - 03 listopada 2023. 2003 - 195 000 km. RENAULT’S stylish new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet may have taken longer than expected to go on sale Down Under, but the wait for what Renault dubs Australia’s first multi-seasonal vehicle appears to have been worthwhile. Originally due mid-year, the third bodystyle to arrive here from the French giant’s new Megane small-medium vehicle family combines a high level of standard equipment and safety features, competitive pricing and Australia’s first standard folding steel and glass roof. Powered exclusively by the same 98kW/191Nm 16-valve four-pot found in Laguna and Megane hatch, Megane CC will be available from November in a single, well-equipped specification - including six airbags and leather trim – priced from $47,990 for the six-speed manual. A four-speed auto option adds $2200, while an LX pack (including 17-inch alloys and six-CD stacker) costs $1290. That represents an entry price $2000 more than Holden’s accomplished Astra convertible ($45,990 for the five-speed manual), which features a gutsier 108kW/203Nm engine but employs a traditional fabric soft-top and also misses out on the likes of leather goes one better by being, according to Renault, first to offer a folding glass roof as standard Megane Coupe-Cabriolet’s next closest rival will be Peugeot’s new 307 CC, which for $2000 more ($49,990 five-speed manual) offers the same structural, security and cosmetic advantages as the Renault thanks to its folding metal roof - a system pioneered by the expensive Mercedes-Benz SLK in 1996 but now so popular one can be had for just $29,990 with Daihatsu’s Copen (powered by 50kW/100Nm 659cc triple). But Megane goes one better by being, according to Renault, first to offer a folding glass roof as standard and, in so doing, giving this CC wider appeal than a regular convertible. The next generation Astra convertible, based on the redesigned AH hatch launched here last month, is expected to join the folding metal roof brigade in coming years, while Volkswagen’s next Golf cabrio is expected to go one better again in 2005 by offering a world-first sliding glass sunroof within its retractable steel roof. In the absence of Europe’s wagon variant, the Australian Megane family will be completed in early 2005 by the Scenic and Grand Scenic people-movers. For now, however, Megane CC is Australia’s least expensive four-seat coupe-convertible and all but matches the 100kW/190Nm output of the 307 CC, which is also available with a higher-performing 130kW/202Nm engine from $56,990. The 147kW Astra Turbo soft-top is quicker again, from a relatively cheap $49,990. Perhaps the most convincingly styled Megane II variant to appear, the CC transforms itself from a stylish two-door coupe into a four-seater convertible in 22 seconds at the touch of a CC differs substantially by eschewing the sedan’s conventional boot and the hatch’s polarising buttocks for an entirely cohesive pillarless coupe silhouette Designed by German specialist Karmann, the roof features heat-reflective glass, a heated rear screen, manual interior sunblind and an electro-hydraulic open/closing mechanism. Weighing a total of 78kg (15kg of which is glass), Renault says the sound-proofed roof is 2dB quieter than an equivalent soft-top, resulting in sedan-like interior noise levels. Based on Megane hatch underpinnings but riding on a 103mm-shorter wheelbase and weighing around 150kg more at 1430kg, CC features the now familiar face presented by its three and five-door hatch and four-door sedan siblings (on sale here since December 2003 and March 2004 respectively). But Megane CC differs substantially by eschewing the sedan’s conventional boot and the hatch’s polarising buttocks for an entirely cohesive pillarless coupe silhouette in which 80 per cent of the sheetmetal is unique. These include pillarless doors, unique front wings, a new boot and, of course, the folding steel roof with glass top and rear panels. But there’s also a reinforced windscreen frame, cross-body members and rear bulkhead components. CC is a revelation compared to the much cheaper and flimsier cabriolet it replaces. The car that introduced the Megane nameplate here may have started at just $41,490, with the $43,990 Privilege adding leather, but both were powered by a weazy 79kW/148Nm Apart from its engine - mated to Nissan six-speed manual or four-speed Proactive manual-shift auto transmissions – the biggest advance is the longer overall body (4355mm) featuring a larger 490-litre boot (just 30 litres smaller than Megane sedan’s and shrinking to 190 litres with the roof down) and 85mm more rear legroom. Apart from a 17-litre glovebox that’s chilled and locks automatically with the doors and 24mm-lower front seats that feature a slide/recline memory position for convenient rear-seat access, CC reiterates much of the top-spec Megane Dynamique LX hatch’s standard fare. That means black leather upholstery, 16-inch alloys, six-speaker CD sound system, climate control air-conditioning, power windows/mirrors, remote audio controls, trip computer, cruise control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, remote central locking and Renault Card keyless starting system. The high level of standard equipment extends to safety, with the four-seater Megane CC offering twin front airbags, twin head/thorax side airbags and twin anti-submarining airbags, four three-point seatbelts with pretensioners and load-limiters, fold-away brake pedal, Bosch ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist and twin rear foam-covered rollover hoops. A European model scored a maximum five-star European NCAP crash rating, making Megane CC the safest vehicle in its class. Red leather trim is optional and there are five metallic (black, red, blue, silver and quartz) and one solid paint colour (blue) to choose you know?Renault Australia hopes to sell a modest 30 examples a month, in a local convertible market that’s up 57 per cent in the past five years
The third-generation Renault Megane hatchback first arrived in UK showrooms in November 2008. You could choose between three petrol engines, a 1.6-litre VVT in99bhp ‘100’ or 108bhp ‘110

Safety Both vehicles got tested by European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), with the Renault being a slightly better choice apparently. That aside, let's consider some other aspects which affect safety. Both vehicles belong to the small family car segment, which is generally classifying them somewhere in the middle safety-wise, still it doesn't help us solve our dilemma, does it? Furthermore, when it comes to weight, a factor that most people underestimate, 307 offers a marginal difference of 9% more metal. Reliability Manufacturers have been building their reliability reputation for decades now and, generally speaking, it appears that both brands display similar results in faults and breakdowns, when all the models are taken into account. These are the official statistics, while our visitors describe reliability of Peugeot with an average rating of and models under the Renault badge with out of 5. Some independent research have also placed 307 as average reliability-wise, and Megane is more or less at the same apart, owners of different cars powered by the same engine as 307 rank it on average as while the one under the competitor's bonnet gets out of 5. Performance & Fuel economy Renault is a bit more agile, reaching 100km/h in seconds less than its competitor. In addition to that it accelerates all the way to 195 kilometers per hour, 4km/h more than the other car. When it comes to fuel economy the winner has to be Megane, averaging around liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (41 mpg), in combined cycle. We can't ignore that 10% difference compared to 307. Verdict Peugeot appears just a bit more reliable, although the difference is truly marginal. The most important thing when deciding between any two vehicles should always be safety, both passive and active. In my opinion, everything taken into account, Megane offers slightly better overall protection and takes the lead. It all continues in the same direction, with Renault offering somewhat better performance, just enough to call it quicker. To make things even better, it consumps less fuel! All together, there's not much more to say, in this case I wouldn't even consider anything but Renault. In any case that's my personal view, built upon all the data available to me. What should decide here though is the way you feel about the two vehicles, and I hope you'll find my guidelines useful in the process. Also, you could use the oportunity to find out which car, everything taken into account, would be the perfect choice for you in the eyes of the virtual adviser™, out of vehicles we currently have in our database.
